And that special was the launch of a mobile app that lets you take the BBG with you at all times. Now Kayla will step out of Instagram and will offer you even more challenging workouts and few other things with the Sweat with Kayla app.
At a time when we spend more time with gizmos than ever and use our mobile phones for almost everything, except a root canal maybe, having a mobile app that doles out fitness tips, diet information and exercise routines is not uncommon. Some of the most popular fitness gurus do it.
But what is more important with Kayla Itsines is that most of her members are already a part of the BBG program. How can she improvise on what is an effective program by all means? Does she succeed in bettering the Bikini Body Guide workouts with the new Sweat with Kayla workouts?
It goes without saying that Kayla’s legion of fans were more than eager for the app to be launched. There was a lot of anticipation about the content, especially for existing BBG members. For newbies, it gave a wonderful opportunity to experience the ‘Kayla fever’ firsthand.
Never got around to becoming a BBG member? No problem. Download the Kayla Itsines App and get access to the insane workouts that’s transforming millions of people one at a time. That sounds like a solid plan in theory. Only, the execution wasn’t half as good as the buildup. At least that’s what the members think.
Within just 24 hours of launching the app, there was a barrage of negative comments and feedback, including a very poor rating on the iTunes store. Now that’s something that Kayla is not typically used to.
Some members felt it lacking in content saying that there was nothing ‘new’ in it other than what’s already covered in the BBG workout guide. Others were more forthcoming and called it a ‘rip-off’. If you have contemplated downloading the Sweat with Kayla App, hoping that it would be your ticket to a better-looking body, then that may seem like a dampener.
Why does the app fall desperately short of its claims?

For starters, it costs around $4.61 per week, even for the existing customers of the BBG program. At least that’s what the launch price was. But within 24 hours, she sent out an email to all the members reducing it to $1 per month, only for the first month though.
So, in effect, even if you have joined the BBG program and paid for it, you will still have to cough up money to join the Sweat with Kayla app. That didn’t go down to well with a large part of her loyal fan base and was partly responsible for the outrageous rip-off statements.
According to Kayla all it costs a week is what you’d normally pay for a cup of coffee. Her fans think otherwise. Even when it gives you access to a 7-day ‘trial’, you automatically get billed for a month. Do you get a refund when you cancel the trial subscription? Well, that’s not clear yet.
The app was supposed to be a Launchpad for the BBG 3.0, or the third iteration of the Bikini Body Guide. That had BBG veterans drooling. If you had completed the first and the second version of the program then this promised to take it to new heights.
But in reality, all that the app contains content-wise, even after you pay for the monthly subscription, is a rehashed version of their own BBG 1.0 and 2.0 eBooks program . There is absolutely nothing novel about the workouts. Read our article ‘Sweat with Kayla vs BBG e-books‘ to understand more!
Kayla has promised to make it better and improvise it in the months to come. But for now, users are mostly stuck with some rehashed content and a recurring subscription that’s going to cost them $20 a month.
