First things first. My name is Maria and I am a huge fan of Kayla Itsines. The ways in which she has helped me cannot be expressed in words. Most people are aware that the Bikini Body Guide will help them get the dream Bikini body that they’d always desired. But the advantages go way beyond that.
My confidence and self-belief have skyrocketed. I am primed to take on new challenges. I am not afraid to explore my limits and stretch them beyond what I always thought, was the threshold. I go out on hikes, treks, mountaineering and scuba diving. Let’s just say that this is ‘Me version 2.0’.
And I will forever be indebted to Kayla and the Bikini Body Guide for this. Kayla, if you ever read this, I owe you one.
But, my fangirl moment aside, I am also a very discerning customer who absolutely despises glossy sales pitches and fancy repackaged stuff that is just a rehash of what I have already paid for.
This website is a result of that derision. It is a large signboard that warns you about paying twice as much for a mobile app that offers nothing novel, that you cannot get from one of the best eBooks in the world.
I am talking about the ‘Sweat with Kayla’ app, which I whole heartedly purchased, expecting nothing lesser than the best from Kayla Itsines. But it was such a letdown that I couldn’t help but vent out the frustration on this blog. I have also left a very poor rating on the Apple Store, addressed to none other than Kayla herself. But that would probably be buried (It is buried as I just check) under a barrage of positive comments that to me, seem ‘unnatural’.
I won’t insinuate that they are fake. But they don’t seem to be in the best interests of the people who are new to the app. For someone like me who already has the BBG 1.0 and 2.0 versions, the app offers ‘zero value’. I repeat, absolutely zero value.
There are easier ways to track my water intake (It has a water tracker) and also to ensure that I have access to my workouts for the day. (Prints anyone?)
Mundane features like these do not warrant a $55 charge on my credit card every third month. If you have even a modicum of common sense, you will resonate my views on the App.
There is no comparison with the eBooks to be honest. It’s just a glorified reminder app that is being sold as a new workout companion.
So, to help you draw a direct comparison between the app and the eBook and to reemphasize that you can ‘Save Yourself Some Money’, here I am with my own website. I hope it helps you make a wise and informed decision rather than believing in fancy sales pitches.
